More About Our Camp

“No one puts more care into the care of your child.”

Gan Israel is much more than a physical break from the school routine and winter activities. It’s a comprehensive program designed to strengthen the body and soul. It provides your child with a rich and wholesome summer vacation of fun and excitement along with friendship and meaningful educational experiences.

Camp Gan Israel is renowned for its great spirit, Jewish Pride, and most of all its very special counselors. We have also become a trendsetter in special programming, field trips and family participation. But what we are most proud of are the friendships made between the children, who span the entire spectrum of the Jewish community, and our hand-picked staff.

It’s the reason that parents
send their children back to Gan Israel year after year.

Just call us, and we’ll provide you with the name and number of a camp parent in your neighborhood. Hear about Gan Israel straight from the source!

We conduct our counselor search in coordination with other  Gan Israel camps across the country in order to bring the highest quality and devoted counselors to Camp Gan Israel of Columbus. One of the highest priorities of our camp is to nurture each camper with personal devotion.

In addition to the camp directors, the staff will include: two head counselors, eight bunk counselors, three junior counselors, three Red Cross certified lifeguards, a WSI certified swim instructor, recreation instructor, crafts and nature instructor, a cook, and two bus drivers. Careful consideration of camp size will ensure optimum counselor/camper ratio of at least one supervising staff member per six campers.

Gan Israel campers are imbued with a deep sense of pride in their Jewish heritage and a love for the land of Israel. Weekly Judaic themes are taught through exciting activities, stories, songs, games and contests, which are part of the unique Gan Israel experience. Combined with group discussions and educational programs, these events bring to life the beauty and values of our tradition.

Field Trips
In addition to nature field trips, campers will have the opportunity to enjoy field trips to children's favorites, such as ice skating, bowling, the Columbus Zoo, Magic Mountain, COSI, Hocking Hills and other activities. Additionally, there will be one full day trip that will extend into early evening (e.g. Kings Island or Zoombezi Bay) that will be billed separately. Information concerning this field trip will be sent home with the children prior to the trip.
